A Little White Death - John Lawton
1963: A Tory government beset by a defection, sexual scandal, cover-up
and a ministerial resignation - unravels a trail that leads to
death at the very heart of the Establishment and a failing administration.
The Inspector Troy series is a wonderful examination of the how
England changes during the WWII and the twenty years that follow
it.
Travel Writing
Hokkaido Highway Blues
by Will
Ferguson
Will Ferguson had been an English teacher in Japan for several
years, when he decided it would be a good idea to follow the Cherry
Blossom Front (the gradual blooming of the cherry blossom trees)
from the Southernmost tip to the Northernmost tip of Japan, by
hitchhiking. This produces some excellent stories.
Will Ferguson
describes the places he visits and the people he meets and he
often includes a little history of each town.
