The Historic heart of Britain – Shakespeare Country & the Cotswolds

The Heart of England is most famous for its associations with Shakespeare but the whole region is steeped in history. From the majestic castle at Warwick to the beautiful towns and villages of the Cotswolds there are historic associations wherever you turn.

This tour visits the places most associated with England’s most famous playwright William Shakespeare and it also includes some of England’s prettiest countryside.  The itinerary assumes that you have car, and is based around spending three nights in Stratford, one night in the Cotswolds and three in Warwick.  The distances driven each day are relatively short and you could use Stratford or Warwick as a base – driving out as appropriate.   This itinerary is aimed at couples or older family groups rather than families with children and requires an average level of fitness and mobility.
